Hear from patient experts and Tigerlily ANGEL Advocates T’Ana Johnson and Tiana Russel about the patient perspective on the importance of continued research and access to oral chemotherapy and rare disease drugs and the fixes the EPIC Act and ORPHAN Cures Act provide to the unintended consequences the Inflation Reduction Act’s (IRA) provisions create for both these important treatment types.
Joining T’Ana and Tiana are medical oncologist and breast cancer disparities researcher Angelique Richardson, MD, PhD and researcher and Founder of Phoenix Molecular Designs Sandra Dunn, PhD to share the provider and researcher perspectives on these issues.

Join Tigerlily for our 2025 Virtual Young Women’s Health Day on the Hill (YWHD) on June 11, 2025!
As a YWHD particpant, you will have the opportunity to meet virtually via Zoom with members of Congress and their staff, sharing your story and raising critical awareness about:
- Protecting access to oral chemotherapy (EPIC Act).
- Advancing research for rare disease treatments, including rare cancers and common side effects of anti-cancer therapies such as neuropathy, liver disease, and kidney disease (ORPHAN Cures Act).
Tigerlily will schedule and coordinate Congressional meetings and provide you with training, advocacy materials, and support every step of the way.

The ORPHAN Cures Act
The Optimizing Research Progress Hope And New (ORPHAN) Cures Act would help protect research for rare diseases while ensuring affordability. Orphan drugs are drugs used to treat rare diseases which are defined as diseases affecting fewer than 200,000 people.
